Bangladesh’s agricultural-product exports rebounded in the first half of FY2025, showing a 9.31% growth compared to the same period in FY2024. Export earnings reached $595.51 million during July-December 2024, up from $544.77 million the previous year. Key export items included fruits, tea, spices, tobacco, and animal and vegetable fats. This resurgence offers hope for achieving over a billion-dollar turnover by year-end, boosting export-basket diversification away from the overdependence on readymade garments. Industry insiders and analysts are optimistic about the future potential of Bangladesh’s agro-product exports in the global market.
