Apex Foods Ltd reported a marginal decline in its first-quarter profit for the July-September period, with a 2 percent year-on-year drop to Tk 1.25 crore, according to its disclosure on the Dhaka Stock Exchange. This dip also impacted its earnings per share (EPS), which slipped from Tk 2.25 to Tk 2.20. Opening at Tk 215.5, Apex Foods’ stock price fell by 4.08 percent to Tk 206.7 on the trading day following the announcement.
Despite the profit decline, Apex Foods saw a significant improvement in its net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS), reducing its deficit to Tk 12.19, compared to Tk 31.28 in the negative during the same quarter last year. The company attributes this improvement to a stronger revenue collection and reduced bank charges. However, the net asset value per share experienced a slight decline, which the company linked to shifts in the market value of its investments.
