Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, a seasoned military officer, has been elected Chairman of Shimanto Bank PLC. He assumed the role after a Board Meeting held on Tuesday. Maj Gen Ashrafuzzaman has an illustrious military career, joining the Border Guard Bangladesh as Director General on February 5, 2024. Prior to his current position, he held various significant roles, including Director of Military Training and Chairman of the Army Sports Control Board. With extensive educational qualifications, including a Bachelor’s degree from Chittagong University and advanced degrees from prestigious institutions in Bangladesh and abroad, Maj Gen Ashrafuzzaman brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role. Throughout his career, he has served in key command, staff, and instructor positions both domestically and internationally, demonstrating his leadership acumen. Additionally, he has successfully completed UN missions in Ethiopia and Sudan, further showcasing his capability on the global stage.
