The State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources stressed the significance of a trilateral agreement between Bangladesh, India, and Nepal to bolster regional cooperation in the power sector. During a seminar at the Nepal Embassy in Baridhara, discussions revolved around ongoing negotiations and Bangladesh’s proposal for an MoU with India and Nepal. The minister highlighted the potential for electricity import and export through a transmission line connecting Nepal and Bangladesh, underscoring the benefits of cross-border collaboration. He also mentioned current electricity imports from India and nearing completion of a process to import power from Nepal. The seminar also addressed investment opportunities in Nepal’s power sector and efforts to strengthen economic relations between Bangladesh and Nepal.
