Bashundhara Paper Mills faced a 17% decline in net profit for the first half of FY 2024, despite a 4% growth in revenue. The company attributed the profit dip to a dollar crisis, which hampered raw material imports, leading to reduced factory operations. Although revenue increased to Tk685 crore from Tk656 crore year-on-year, net profit dropped from Tk30.45 crore to Tk25.24 crore. The challenges of importing raw materials due to the dollar crisis impacted production. The company secretary mentioned that increased revenue resulted from product price hikes, but the overall cost increased due to the high cost of the dollar.
