British-Irish company Deltaport Limited will invest $36 million to establish a garment manufacturing industry in the BEPZA Economic Zone. An agreement was signed at the BEPZA Complex, with BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman present. The facility will produce 20 million pieces annually, including protective clothing, workwear, PPE, hospital gowns, masks, bed sheets, and curtains, creating 5,980 jobs for Bangladeshis. BEPZA officials urged Deltaport to expedite construction. Deltaport is a sister concern of Eastport Limited, which has operated in Cumilla EPZ since 2013.
