Best Holdings Limited, the company behind the prestigious Le Meridian hotel in Dhaka, has been included in the DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). The addition, effective from April 12, 2024, follows Best Holdings meeting all criteria for inclusion in the quarterly IPO addition. Notably, no existing company was removed from the DSEX in the April update. However, no new company qualified for inclusion in the DSE SME Growth Index. Best Holdings’ shares debuted on February 6, raising Tk350 crore, with a market capitalization of Tk3,886 crore as of recent data. The company’s shares closed at Tk35.80 each at DSE. The DSE’s Bangladesh Index Methodology stipulates a free-float market capitalization requirement of Tk10 crore for DSEX membership, with flexibility for existing members meeting other criteria.
