The Bangladesh Institute of Capital Markets (BICM) has taken an initiative to promote mutual funds in Bangladesh. BICM introduced a new program, “Licensed Mutual Fund Selling Agent,” to popularize such funds in the country. This initiative allows individuals who complete the course to become licensed mutual fund sales agents and sell units from multiple fund managers.
The executive president of BICM highlighted that the Mutual Fund Rules of 2001 specify that those who complete relevant courses from BICM are eligible to work as mutual fund selling agents. The program consists of nine modules, with a flexible completion timeframe of four to nine days based on participants’ responses. Classes will be conducted at the BICM, accommodating 15 students per batch.
This initiative aims to expand the reach of mutual funds by enabling more individuals to become licensed sales agents, thereby enhancing the accessibility and popularity of mutual fund investments in the country.
