The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has allowed the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) to upgrade stocks from the Z category if companies disburse at least 80% of their declared dividends. This follows the DSE downgrading 13 firms to Z due to dividend non-compliance, bringing the total Z category stocks to 86. Several companies have submitted compliance reports after distributing dividends, prompting the DSE to seek guidance from the BSEC on category changes. The commission’s approval enables the DSE to adjust categories for compliant firms in the coming days.
