An international trade analyst emphasized the potential of triangular cooperation among Bangladesh, India, and Japan to bolster trade, business, and economic growth. Highlighting their similarities in climate, culture, and commerce, the analyst suggested that a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Bangladesh and India could create a situation akin to a free economic zone, benefiting all three countries. Tripartite cooperation is seen as crucial for Bangladesh’s sustainability, especially in attracting investment post-graduation to a developing country in 2026. With shared rules of law and government, the three nations are discussing agreements to address common challenges and capitalize on opportunities. The involvement of Japan in development projects in India’s northeastern region presents another avenue for collaboration. Additionally, leveraging maritime connectivity and exploring trading destinations like Agartala and Manipur in India could further enhance trade growth. Addressing challenges in special economic zones is essential to attract more investors and ensure sustainable economic development.
