Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) inaugurated two fixed scanners at port entrances, marking the first time export containers can be checked before shipment. Costing Tk 85.89 crore from Nuctech Company Limited, the scanners aim to enhance port security and streamline operations. The initiative aligns with international ship and port security codes, with plans to expand digital scanning to other ports nationwide. Additionally, the National Board of Revenue is replacing old port scanners with four new ones. These advancements underscore CPA’s commitment to bolstering port security and compliance with international standards, as recommended during a 2017 visit by the United States Coast Guard.
