The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) has formally requested the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to extend the deadline for filing income tax returns for 2023-24 until January 31, 2024. CCCI President highlighted several challenges faced by taxpayers, including delays in receiving income tax circulars and guidelines, a lack of awareness about the new Income Tax Act 2023, and adverse global economic conditions. The current deadline is November 30, but the CCCI emphasizes the need for an extension to accommodate both new and existing taxpayers grappling with these challenges.
