The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed a decline, with its benchmark index, the DSEX, dropping by 1.27 percent. Starting on a positive note, the market couldn’t sustain the momentum, leading to the DSEX closing at 5,105.88 points, marking its lowest since April 5, 2021. The DSES, representing Shariah-compliant stocks, also fell by 1.53 percent to 1,103.66, while the DS30, comprising top blue-chip firms, slipped by 1.29 percent to 1,811.79. Turnover decreased by 10.93 percent to Tk 318 crore, indicating a decline in the volume of shares traded during the session. Out of 391 scrips, 342 experienced a decline, only 26 advanced, and the remaining 23 stocks didn’t witness any price movement.
