Construction has commenced on the Dhaka Tower in Bangladesh, a project by the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA), set to become the country’s tallest building at 150 meters. Developed in collaboration with Shanta Holdings, the tower spans 180,000 sqm of office space in Dhaka’s evolving commercial district of Tejgaon.
The design features a unique triangular floor plate merging through a rectangular core, offering panoramic views of Hatirjheel Lake with ample natural daylight through fritted glass. The tower’s base takes on a pyramid shape, hosting triple-height lobbies with curated retail and dining establishments. The interior showcases a pattern inspired by Dhaka’s waterscape, connecting the structure to its cultural context.
The base also includes a 40-meter-high exhibition space promoting art, culture, and innovation. At the tower’s summit, a dining experience and publicly accessible observation deck provide panoramic views of the city. The Dhaka Tower is a significant milestone in Bangladesh’s urban landscape, reflecting the country’s economic growth and transformation.
