The Energy & Mineral Resources Division under the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources issued a gazette on Saturday announcing revised petroleum prices, following the automatic fuel pricing formula.Â
According to the notification, retail prices of diesel and kerosene have been slightly reduced by Tk 1.25 per litre, while petrol and octane have been cut by Tk 6.0 per litre, effective from September 1. The new price of petrol is Tk 121 per litre, down from the previous Tk 127 per litre, and octane has been reduced to Tk 125 per litre from Tk 135 per litre. This adjustment comes after two months of unchanged prices, as the previous government was preoccupied with addressing student-led protests and public unrest in July and August.
