The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has changed its auditor after 36 years, appointing Hoda Vasi Chowdhury & Co. Chartered Accountants for FY 2023–24 to enhance transparency and diversification. The move was approved by shareholders at the annual general meeting (AGM) on December 21, 2023.
The DSE’s Managing Director emphasized the shareholder-approved change. Despite the auditor transition, shareholders also announced a 4% cash dividend for FY23, a decrease from the 6% cash dividend in FY22. The DSE’s financials for FY23 reflected a substantial 25% drop in revenue to Tk238 crore, attributed to stock market volatility and reduced share transactions due to floor prices. Net profit after tax also declined by 35%, reaching Tk80 crore compared to FY2022.
