DSE appoints Tariquzzaman as MD

Dr. ATM Tariquzzaman, with over 25 years of capital market experience, joined as a managing director at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). His appointment received approval from the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) on August 8, 2023. This appointment follows a vacancy in the top executive position at DSE since September of the previous year, when the former Managing Director resigned prematurely due to disagreements with the board of directors.

Before joining DSE, Dr. Tariquzzaman served as the Executive Director at BSEC. His educational background includes an M.Com. in Accounting from the University of Dhaka, an MBA in Financial Management from South Eastern University (UK Campus), and a PhD in Accounting and Finance from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. He has also taught at various universities and holds professional memberships from organizations such as CPA Australia and the Institute of Directors (IOD) in New Zealand, among others.
