The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) started positively, with increased investor activity following the previous session’s sell-offs. The broad-based DSEX index rose by 12 points to reach 6,296 points. Other key indices also showed positive trends: the blue-chip index DS30 increased by 2 points to 2,131 points, and the Shariah-compliant stocks’ index DSES was up by 2 points to 1,364 points. Market turnover on the DSE amounted to Tk149 crore during this period.
Among the total number of traded stocks, 119 witnessed gains, 28 reported losses, and 88 remained unchanged. Notable performers, Mercantile Islami Insurance, which led with a remarkable gain of 9.86%, followed closely by Daffodil Computers, which surged by 9.35%, and Continental Insurance, which had a substantial increase of 5.33%.
This positive momentum extended to the Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE), where indices also displayed favorable trends. Overall, the market showed signs of recovery and increased investor confidence.
