Dhaka stocks tumbled to a 20-day low on May 15, as the DSEX benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange dropped by 58 points, closing at 5,527. This decline extended the losing streak to three consecutive days amid investor concerns over high inflation, a record current account deficit, and decreasing forex reserves. Market turnover fell by 21% to Tk 526 crore. Out of the traded stocks, 61 advanced, 301 declined, and 33 remained unchanged. Over the past three sessions, the DSEX has shed 169 points, leading to a market capitalization loss of over Tk 8,000 crore, now standing at Tk 7.02 lakh crore.
