The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) experienced a significant setback as daily market turnover fell to a five-month low of Tk 306 crore, a 30.42% drop from the previous day. The textiles sector led the turnover chart, accounting for 13.61% of the total. The DSEX, the benchmark index, decreased by 50.35 points (0.95%) to 5,228.53, its lowest in over three years. Similarly, the DSES, representing Shariah-based firms, fell by 13.59 points (1.18%) to 1,138.96, and the DS30, comprising blue-chip shares, dropped 16.79 points (0.89%) to 1,869.93. Of the 396 traded scrips, 286 declined, 64 rose, and 44 remained unchanged.
