Eastern Bank (EBL) and icddr,b have signed an agreement to establish a state-of-the-art solid biohazardous waste treatment facility at their head office in the city. The facility will be equipped with advanced waste sterilizers and shredders, allowing for the complete decontamination and destruction of biohazardous polymer products.
The partnership extends beyond the construction of the facility, as EBL and icddr,b will collaborate on developing and updating policies and standard operating procedures for sustainable waste management within healthcare institutions. The agreement was signed by the head of Communications and External Affairs at EBL, and acting executive director and senior director of Maternal and Child Health Division at icddr,b.
