The government of Bangladesh has given the green light to 16 development projects with a total cost of Tk 243.62 billion. The projects primarily focus on enhancing rural and urban infrastructure. The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved these projects during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the capital city.
The approved projects include several rural infrastructure development initiatives, aligning with the government’s mission to improve villages and foster development. The projects were carefully selected, considering the ongoing austerity measures and the need for essential infrastructure improvements. The funds for these projects will come from both internal and external resources, with Tk 128.73 billion sourced internally, Tk 161.5 million from implementing agencies’ funds, and Tk 114.73 billion from external resources as project assistance.
