Essential Drugs Company Partners with MetLife for Employee Insurance

Three local drug makers—ACME Laboratories, Ibn Sina Pharmaceutical, and Healthcare Pharmaceuticals—are set to commence full-scale production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) at BSCIC API Industrial Park in Munshiganj, pending final regulatory approvals.

Abul Hashem and Md. Nasiruzzaman have been reappointed as chairmen of BASIC Bank and Bangladesh Krishi Bank after completing their initial three-year terms. Meanwhile, the government appointed Md. Mokhles Ur Rahman as the new chairman of Jiban Bima Corporation, replacing former chairman Md. Asadul Islam.

MetLife Bangladesh has partnered with IDLC Asset Management Limited (IDLC AML) to manage equity investments for its new insurance product, "Endowment Growth." This collaboration aims to enhance financial benefits for customers by leveraging IDLC's disciplined investment strategies.

Meghna Group has partnered with Turkey's Tam Hangers to establish Tam Hangers Bangladesh Limited, aiming to produce plastic garment hangers for export. Tam Hangers holds a 51% stake, while Meghna Group holds 49%. A new factory in Mirzapur, Tangail, began trial production on October 4 with 16 machines, capable of producing 30,000 hangers daily. The facility plans to expand to 40 machines, with a total investment of $7.5 million and the creation of 500 jobs.

BRAC Bank has partnered with Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View, offering Premium Banking Plus customers exclusive complimentary benefits at the hotel during special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, and festive events throughout the year. The agreement was recently signed at the hotel, marking a new collaboration aimed at enhancing the experience for BRAC Bank’s premium clients.
