The European Union (EU) has provided €300,000 in aid to support flood-affected areas in Bangladesh, focusing on the Bandarban region, one of the hardest-hit districts. The funding will be managed by the UN’s World Food Program (WFP) and coordinated with the Bangladesh Red Cross. The aid will primarily provide emergency cash assistance to address urgent needs for food and shelter. The floods, triggered by heavy rainfall, have severely affected food security, damaged homes, and caused losses in livestock and crops. This assistance is part of the EU’s efforts to provide humanitarian aid and mitigate the impact of natural disasters in Bangladesh, including previous aid for the Rohingya refugee crisis and cyclone relief.
