Excelerate Energy, a US-based company, plans to increase its investments in Bangladesh’s energy sector and decarbonization efforts, said CEO Steven Kobos. In a meeting with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, Kobos reaffirmed Excelerate’s commitment to enhancing LNG supply, noting that its two offshore regasification units already provide 34% of the country’s daily gas needs. Kobos also highlighted growing interest from US companies in Bangladesh under Yunus’ leadership. Yunus welcomed the investment, stressing his government’s steps to attract foreign direct investment and improve the business climate.
