The National Pension Authority (NPA) is witnessing a lukewarm response from the Bangladeshi expatriate community. Out of the 1.49 crore expatriates, only 209 individuals have contributed to the “Probash” program under the Universal Pension Scheme. As of August 17, a total of 8,231 individuals have participated in various schemes. Notably, 4,371 people joined the “Progoti” scheme, 2,741 under “Surokkha,” 910 for “Samata,” and just 209 for the “Probash” scheme. The NPA has expressed concern over the disparity between registered participants and those who have actually made monetary contributions, highlighting the need to encourage active involvement.
