Bangladesh’s power generation is sharply reduced due to fuel shortages and $846 million in unpaid dues, impacting coal-based plants like Adani (66% supply cut), Matarbari, Rampal, and SS Power. Gas-based plants, including Meghnaghat (584 MW) and Summit Meghnaghat-2 (583 MW), and 22 other facilities are shut due to fuel issues, while 27 oil-based plants are partially or fully offline. This has caused extended load shedding, with rural areas facing up to 10-hour outages daily.
