Bangladesh’s economic growth dropped to 3.91% in the final quarter of FY2023-24, down from 6.88% a year earlier, with declines across agriculture, industries, and services, according to Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics data. The industrial sector was most impacted, slipping to 3.98% growth, while services dropped to 3.67%. High inflation and energy shortages were key factors, reducing consumer demand and industrial output. The government initially forecasted a 6% annual growth rate, later revised to 5.8%.
