Jewellers have increased the price of gold to an all-time high of Tk 101,243 per bhori, effective from the 25th of August. The current cost for each 11.664-gram bhori of 22-carat gold jewelry is Tk 99,027.
The Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (Bajus) announced the price hike in response to the escalating rates of pure gold, as stated in a press release.
Notably, on July 20, gold prices surpassed Tk 1 lakh, specifically reaching Tk 100,776 per bhori, marking the first occurrence in the country. Following this, on August 17, the price temporarily fell below the Tk 1 lakh benchmark, landing at Tk 99,027.
