Gold prices have experienced a second decline reported by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus). In response to the diminishing rates, jewelers have announced a reduction in gold prices by 1.74 percent, effective from October 1st. Each bhori of gold will now be priced at Tk 98,210, marking a decrease from today’s rate of Tk 99,960, and a cumulative 3 percent drop from the previous month’s prevalent rate of over Tk 100,000.
This decision by Bajus to lower gold prices is attributed to the decrease in the cost of pure gold in the local market. The 22-carat gold prices have specifically fallen by Tk 3,033 per bhori, reflecting a 3 percent reduction. The fluctuations in gold prices, a popular metal primarily used for ornaments, have persisted for over a year.
