Government agencies have implemented only 61.73 percent of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) until May, indicating that ADP execution is likely to miss the target for the fiscal year 2022-23.
To execute the total Tk 2.36 trillion ADP in the current fiscal, government ministries and agencies will need to implement the remaining 38.27 percent within June. However, implementing such a large portion within a month is challenging, with agencies having the capacity to implement a maximum of 20 percent of the ADP within a month, according to a senior official of the Ministry of Planning.
In May, public agencies implemented only 11.40 percent of the ADP, as per data from the Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED). The ADP implementation rate, which was 92.74 percent in FY 2022, is expected to be much lower this fiscal year.
