Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina informed parliament that Bangladesh is exploring hydrogen and ammonia production alongside solar and wind energy. By 2035, pilot projects for hydrogen energy are anticipated, coordinated through a newly established cell at RPGCL under Petrobangla. She also highlighted progress on the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, expecting its first 1,200-megawatt unit to begin commercial operations by year-end. Emphasizing renewable energy goals, she reiterated aims to generate 40% of electricity from clean sources by 2041. Additionally, she discussed the Asrayan Project’s success in resettling over 8,67,977 landless families and achieving zero homelessness in several districts and divisions. She affirmed the government’s commitment to judicial reform, noting significant increases in social safety sector allocations to ensure equitable justice and societal welfare.
