The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the government’s procurement of 3.8 million tonnes of refined fuel oil using the Direct Procurement Method (DPM) from January to December of 2024. The decision was made during the 27th meeting of the CCEA, chaired by the Finance Minister. The Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) will oversee the procurement under Government-to-Government (G to G) arrangements. The fuel oil purchase includes 23.4 lakh tonnes of gas oil, 3.75 lakh tonnes of Jet-A1, 2.75 lakh tonnes of mogas, 7.5 lakh tonnes of furnace oil, and 60,000 tonnes of marine fuel.”
