The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) sanctioned multiple proposals from the power and energy divisions, including the import of 1.85 million tonnes of refined petroleum by the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation, costing Tk 15,082.86 crore. Petrobangla also gained approval to import 33.60 lakh MMBtu of LNG from Excelerate Energy LP, USA, at a cost of Tk 542.26 crore. The Power Division’s proposals include Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) purchases from solar power plants, with tariffs ranging from Tk 10.94 to Tk 11.03 per kWh. Additionally, the CCGP greenlit procurement proposals for lentils, edible oil, and wheat, emphasizing TCB’s role in distribution to low-income citizens.
