The 33rd meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) approved several significant procurement proposals to address the increasing demand in Bangladesh. The Ministry of Agriculture’s proposals included the procurement of 40,000 tonnes of DAP fertilizer in the 7th and 8th lots from OCP, SA, Morocco, at a cost of TK 251.28 crore per tonne, amounting to $568.5 per ton. Additionally, 30,000 tonnes of TSP fertilizer from OCP, SA, Morocco were approved at TK 129.69 crore per ton, totaling $393 per ton. The Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) will procure 30,000 tonnes of phosphoric acid for Chattogram DAP Fertiliser Company Ltd at TK 197.34 crore, costing $598 per ton.
The Ministry of Commerce’s proposals included the procurement of 50 lakh litres of soybean oil from Super Oil Refinery Limited at TK 79.27 crore and 80 lakh litres from Meghna Edible Oils Refinery at TK 129.55 crore, with respective costs per litre.
