The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) in Bangladesh has approved proposals for the procurement of approximately 2.60 lakh tonnes of fertilizers and 33.60 lakh MMBtu of LNG. The Energy and Mineral Resources Division will oversee the procurement of LNG, with Petrobangla acquiring 33.60 lakh MMBtu LNG from Total Energies Gas & Power Ltd. Switzerland at a cost of around Tk 470.49 crore. For fertilizers, the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) will procure DAP, TSP, and MOP fertilizers from suppliers in Saudi Arabia, Morocco, and Russia. The BADC will also purchase bagged granular urea fertilizer from KAFCO, Bangladesh. The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will procure rice bran oil from domestic suppliers. The total approved purchases are valued at Tk 2,305 crore.
