The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase approved the procurement of LNG, fertilizers, edible oils, lentils, sugar, and set up of three solar power plants totaling 300 MW. LNG procurement includes four cargoes from US and Singaporean suppliers. Additionally, 40,000 tonnes of DAP fertilizer will be imported from Saudi Arabia, and 30,000 tonnes of MoP fertilizer from Russia. Wheat, lentil, and sugar will be imported from UAE and domestic suppliers. The committee also sanctioned the establishment of solar power plants in Khulna, Moulvibazar, and Rajbari districts. These projects, estimated to cost Tk 35.376 billion each, will supply electricity to the Bangladesh Power Development Board under a 20-year agreement.
