The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase in Bangladesh has approved the import of 170,000 tonnes of fertilizers from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Morocco. The Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) received approval to import 30,000 tonnes of bulk granular urea fertilizer from Fertiglobe Distribution Ltd.
Additionally, the BCIC was given the green light to import 30,000 tonnes of bulk granular urea fertilizer from SABIC Agri-nutrients Company, Saudi Arabia. The Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) obtained approval to import 30,000 tonnes of Triple Super-Phosphate (TSP) fertilizer from OCP S.A, Morocco, and 40,000 tonnes of Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) fertilizer from OCP S.A.
The committee also approved the procurement of 40,000 tonnes of DAP fertilizer from MA’ADEN, Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, tariff approval was granted for the extended period of the Haripur 360-megawatt gas-based power plant.
