The Cabinet Committee on Procurement has approved several significant proposals, including the expenditure of Tk 444.85 crore for drilling two gas wells in Sylhet under the Rapid Increase in Supply of Electricity and Fuel Act. These wells, Sylhet-11 and Rashidpur-13, will be drilled by Sinopec International Petroleum Service Corporation. Another approved proposal involves procuring LNG worth Tk 609.27 crore from the United States, marking an increase in the price per MMBTU to $13.56. Additionally, the committee sanctioned procurement plans for DAP and MOP fertilizers from Saudi Arabia and Russia, as well as various construction projects like the BRT Gazipur-Airport road package and residential buildings for cleaners of Dhaka North City Corporation at Gabtali City Palla.
