The Ministry of Commerce is considering policy support for poultry feed production to stabilize chicken and egg prices. The Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission (BTTC) will analyze the reasons for the surge in poultry feed prices and propose policy interventions through a tariff review. The national committee on commodity price review decided on this during a recent meeting. BTTC is expected to present findings within 10 working days. The discussion aimed at reducing poultry feed costs to lower chicken and egg prices. Egg prices recently soared, prompting potential egg imports. The ministry also discussed the rising prices of other commodities. The meeting also focused on verifying production data accuracy and addressing delays in import initiatives.
