The Ministry of Finance has extended deadlines for financial procedures in the current fiscal year 2023-24 through a circular issued. The exemption period for funds under the management and development budget has been prolonged from June 13 to June 23. Additionally, the deadline for new expenditure bills in both sectors has been extended from June 20 to June 24. However, the deadlines for return bills remain unchanged at June 25, with the last date for bill settlement and check issuance also set for June 25. Import and price payments for goods imported under the budget allocation must be completed by June 27, though cases needing extension due to incomplete processes require a report by June 20. Import LCs against budget allocations must be established or settled by June 27. Salaries and allowances are exempt from these deadlines. Notably, no further extensions will be granted for fund releases, bill submissions, or check issuances in the management and development sectors as per the circular.
