The government has extended the tax holiday for renewable energy-based power generation companies. These companies will now receive tax exemptions for up to 15 years from the start of production, with varying rates. The companies must commence production between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2030, to qualify. Under the new directive, which supersedes the previous one issued on September 29, tax exemptions will be 100% for the first 10 years, 50% for the next 3 years, and 25% for the following 2 years. This directive will take effect from July 1, 2024. Other sectors, including agriculture, automotive, and IT services, also enjoy tax holidays.
