Govt Initiates Regular Flights with South Korea

Industry: Aviation

The Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism plans to establish regular direct flights between Dhaka and Seoul, responding to the increasing number of Bangladeshi workers in South Korea. The ministry aims to amend the air service agreement between Bangladesh and South Korea, including flight frequency, to facilitate regular flight operations. Negotiations for the changes are set to occur during the International Civil Aviation Organization’s Air Services Negotiation Event in December. While Korean airlines, including Air Premia and Jin Air, have obtained approval for non-scheduled flights, scheduled flights necessitate a flight frequency agreement. The move aligns with the growing demand for air connectivity between the two countries due to the rising Bangladeshi workforce in South Korea.
