The Ministry of Agriculture is taking substantial steps to boost Boro rice production during the upcoming season by offering a generous incentive of Tk 17.42 crore. This initiative aims to encourage synchronized cultivation, which is considered a key factor in enhancing the staple grain’s output.
To promote synchronized cultivation, the ministry plans to develop 122 blocks, each spanning 50 acres of farmland. Farmers within these blocks will be rewarded with incentives totaling Tk 14.30 lakh. These incentives will be provided in the form of hybrid rice seeds and fertilizers.
In addition to the provision of seeds and fertilizers, farmers will receive valuable support for various stages of cultivation, including transplanting seedlings and harvesting. The ministry is also exploring the utilization of advanced farm machinery to further assist farmers in optimizing their agricultural practices.
