The Nepalese Ambassador met with Bangladesh’s Minister of State for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources for a courtesy call. Discussions focused on various mutual interests, including the progress of importing 40 megawatts of hydropower from Nepal through India, with processes nearing completion.
Additionally, plans for importing an additional 500 MW of hydropower were revealed. The minister announced the formation of a ministry-level committee to enhance electricity and energy business collaboration with Nepal. The ambassador congratulated the Minister of State for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources on his re-election and highlighted the increasing success of Nepal’s energy cooperation with Bangladesh.
