The government plans to purchase one additional LNG cargo from the international spot market for June delivery, totaling four spot LNG cargoes for the month. The tender floated by RPGCL seeks a cargo of 3.36 MMBtu to be delivered on June 28-29. These purchases aim to meet Bangladesh’s increasing demand for natural gas. Three spot cargoes for June delivery were previously awarded at rates exceeding $10 per MMBtu. Additionally, Bangladesh will import four long-term LNG cargoes in June, three from QatarEnergy and one from OQ Trading. Despite payment delays, Bangladesh remains committed to LNG imports to address rising demand for energy resources.
