The government has reduced the Annual Development Programme (ADP) outlay to Tk 2.45 trillion, with education and health sectors experiencing significant cuts due to weak project implementation capacity. Planning Commission officials stated that the health sector allocation decreased by 25.53%, while education saw a 42.35% reduction. This decision, made during a National Economic Council meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, is attributed to low project implementation rates and challenges in mobilizing funds, exacerbated by shortfalls in revenue collection. The Revised Annual Development Programme (RADP) is down by 6.84% from the original Tk 2.63 trillion. The RADP will be funded with Tk 1.61 trillion from government resources and Tk 835 billion from external sources. The allocation for state-owned autonomous bodies has also been revised down.
