The government has approved the procurement of 55,000 liters of soybean oil for its Open Market Sale (OMS) program and plans to import a total of 120,000 metric tonnes of fertiliser to meet local demands. The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will purchase the soybean oil from City Edible Oil Limited for Tk 868.4 million. Additionally, the Bangladesh Agriculture Development Corporation (BADC) will import 120,000 MT of DAP fertiliser from various suppliers, including 40,000 MT from Banyan International Trading in China for Tk 2.94 billion, 40,000 MT from OCP in Morocco for Tk 2.87 billion, and another 40,000 MT from Ma’aden in Saudi Arabia for Tk 2.90 billion. The Industries Ministry has also received approval to import 30,000 MT of bulk granular urea fertiliser from SABIC Agri-nutrients Company in Saudi Arabia for Tk 1.29 billion.
