The government of Bangladesh has approved the purchase of two LNG cargoes from Singapore’s Vitol Asia Ltd through the spot market, with a total expenditure of Tk 1,104.41 crore—one cargo costing Tk 549.09 crore and the other Tk 555.32 crore. Additionally, under a state-level agreement, 25,000 tonnes of TSP fertilizer will be imported from Tunisia’s GCT at a cost of Tk 156.69 crore, priced at $513.75 per tonne. The committee also approved two power distribution upgrade projects in Chattogram under BPDB, costing Tk 498.43 crore and Tk 486.36 crore respectively. Road repairs in Sunamganj and Habiganj affected by the 2022 floods were approved for re-tender evaluation. Four proposals from the Health Services Division were approved, including a revised contract raising costs by Tk 54.79 crore to a total of Tk 456.57 crore, and three consultancy packages under the Inclusive Services project totaling Tk 226.74 crore. These decisions were made in a meeting chaired by Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed.
