Bangladesh is urged to collaborate with all stakeholders in promoting renewable energy after overcoming the challenges of rooftop solar, according to speakers at a recent webinar organized by the Bangladesh Energy Society (BES). The event, titled “1500 MW electricity generation from multi-storied buildings, markets using rooftop solar energy panels by 2024 and sustainable solution to the country’s current electricity crisis,” saw participants encourage innovation from local technology companies and special tax benefits to encourage the use of rooftop solar. The Bangladesh Bank was also called on to encourage commercial banks to make the Green Climate Fund available to all.
